The 2025-2029 plan aims to generate internationally impactful knowledge on functioning through physical activity and sports behaviors, translating outcomes into health policy and practice. It integrates sub-disciplines like biomechanics, exercise physiology, psychology of physical activity, and motor learning, promoting a paradigm shift in understanding human movement's importance across the lifespan.
Four specialized research groups, including behavioral regulation, exercise precision, neuromuscular biomechanics, and skill learning, collaborate to address functioning across life stages. Each group brings unique expertise, prioritizing data validity, observational studies, and tailored interventions, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, and international partnerships.
CIPER's management structure ensures effective coordination, emphasizing sustainability, ethical research, and empowerment of researchers at all career stages. The 2025-2029 plan focuses on enhancing interdisciplinary research, empowering younger researchers, and securing programmatic funding for various initiatives. Strategies include recruiting assistants and junior researchers, fostering internationalization, and acquiring advanced equipment. Internal project funding supports intergroup collaboration and foundational research.
